10 Things To Do Tonight for A Better Tomorrow

Our evening routine is just as important as our morning routine. In fact, what we do in the evening can set the stage for a positive or not-so-positive following day. Prepare for tomorrow by setting yourself up for success with realistic, helpful steps you’ll look forward to accomplishing each day.

Read on for 10 things you can do tonight that will help you have a better tomorrow.

1. One Act of Self-Care

Life can be hectic sometimes, and it can be difficult to give ourselves the time and attention we deserve. But if you can devote a few moments each day to at least one act of self-care that makes you feel good, you’ll soon feel the positive compound effect. Whether that’s giving yourself an at-home manicure, taking a bath, or going to a yoga class, do something that will lift your spirits and enhance your overall well-being.

2. Do Your Skincare Routine

A nighttime skincare routine is the most important thing you can do for your skin. The night is when our skin rejuvenates and repairs itself, so you want to support that healing process with a proper routine. Keep it simple or do an extravagant 10-step process but be sure to include the basics of cleansing and moisturizing.

3. Enjoy Some Peace and Quiet

Finding a few moments of peace and quiet in the day is vital for our energy levels and mental well-being. Find some time to tune out the noise and tune into yourself. Use this moment for self-reflection and practicing mindfulness.

4. Tidy Up Your Space

Our environment plays a huge role in our mental clarity and well-being. Taking just 10 minutes to clean up your workspace after the day is done, tidying up the kitchen after dinner, or finally putting that laundry away can make a world of difference in keeping our minds clear and calm. The cherry on top is waking up to a clean space the next day.

5. Embrace Mood Lighting

When the sun starts to set, it’s time to turn off that harsh overhead lighting. Research shows that too much light exposure in the evening before bed suppresses melatonin production, negatively impacting sleep. To create the ultimate evening mood lighting, turn off any bright lights and add light with warmly lit candles and lamps.

6. Stop Scrolling Social Media

It’s easy to get wrapped up in the endless scroll of social media, even when we know we should be doing something else. A little social media time is okay but wrap it up at least an hour before bed. This will help you wind down and lean into more relaxing activities, such as reading.

7. Plan Out Tomorrow’s “To Do” List

If you’re a fellow to-do list lover, then you know how beneficial they are for keeping you organized and on track. If you don’t already have a to-do list, now’s the time to put it together. Taking a few minutes at the end of the day to plan tomorrow (or at the very least writing down key tasks like appointments, deadlines, or meetings) will help you feel ready to take on the day.

8. Practice Gratitude

At the end of each day, reflect on what you’re grateful for. Whether you write it down in a dedicated gratitude journal or simply think about it, research shows that gratitude practice is strongly associated with greater happiness, positive emotions, stronger relationships, and more.

9. Get Some Movement In

Exercise is one of the best things we can do for our minds and bodies. Not only does it help strengthen our muscles, bones, and heart, but it also supports brain health, reduces stress, and gives us more energy. Daily movement will also improve your sleep, helping you feel ready for bed at the end of the day and refreshed in the morning.

10. Read a Book

Even if it’s just a few pages, reading calms an anxious mind and helps you tap into relaxation mode. Plus, it’s the perfect opportunity to learn something new, feed your imagination, get inspiration, or dive into a new world.

Always Pure, Always Natural.
